WE DO CHARGE: Room Rental + Meals + Basic Care Services (see below for more details)

BASIC CARE SERVICES (per fortnight)
$923.01
This equates to $23,998.26 annually
Basic Care fees remain the same for all Currawarna clients and could potentially be covered by a Support at Home Package, or your assets such as renting or selling your home, leasing or selling farmland
Subject to assessment, individuals may qualify for Federally funded Support at Home Packages (Currawarna is considered your residence, not an aged care facility, as you rent a room), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) package or similar support. The Government allows these funds to be used to purchase care, services and equipment that meet the clients care needs
If you do/were to receive a Government Support at Home Package, you will receive approximately the following amount annually
Level 1 - Basic care needs (minimal support) $10,731.00 annually
Level 2 - Low-level support $16,034.45 annually
Level 3 - Intermediate support (more structured assistance) $21,964.70 annually
Level 4 - Comprehensive support for higher needs $29,646.40 annually
Level 5 - Significant support needs $39,697.40 annually
Level 6 - Substantial health-related needs $48,114.30 annually
Level 7 - Intensive support for complex needs $58,148.15 annually
Level 8 - Highest level of support (often includes complex clinical care/highest resource levels) $78,106.35 annually
All Aged Care Packages are means tested by the Government, and in addition, providers of your package charge up to 10% of the package for management fees. Alternatively, you can go through a self-management provider who charges lower fees.
Unfortunately, at this point in time, CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Program) funding is not able to be used to pay for Currawarna Care Services. We are working hard to change this.

Excerpt from Chair of the Board’s Report February 2024:
“It has come to the Board’s, and my, attention that certain people are of the view that Currawarna will be outside the financial capacity of many of our community members. Let me be very plain on this point, if a person has a single pension and a level three or four federal care at home package, they will be more than able to afford to stay at Currawarna. Each person’s financial position will be different, so we strongly encourage anybody with an interest in the services of Currawarna to contact Maddie directly. Please remember there are no large residential age care deposits and that any support you currently receive in your own home is still available if you move into Currawarna.”
